Landed Estates, Enlightenment and Agrarian Reforms
Throughout the 18th century, the concepts and ideals of the Enlightenment spread through the whole of Europe. Denmark, as other countries, witnessed radical reforms in the areas of agriculture and estate management. On his own estates he put reforms to the test in practice, and Fussingø was to serve as a laboratory for social changes.
